WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Reverie Radio Hour presents a 65th anniversary production of the Mercury Theatre's radio broadcast of War of the Worlds, live in concert. Reverie Productions' 5th Anniversary Benefit Bash takes place immediately after the performance. The original broadcast of this show was made by Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre in 1938. The realistic description of a Martian invasion caused mass hysteria and panic, when listeners believed that the fictional program was an actual news broadcast. Even after listeners realized that the broadcast was fictional, there was an outpouring of stories about "real" alien encounters in the years following the broadcast.
The Benefit Bash includes wine, beer, hors d'oeuvres, fabulous door prizes and surprise gifts!
