WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Amas Musical Theatre in association with Terry Schnuck presents the world premiere of the musical Wanda's World, featuring a book by Eric H. Weinberger, music and lyrics by Beth Falcone, and a story by Eric H. Weinberger and Beth Falcone. Musical direction is by Doug Oberhamer, and the show is directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

Wanda is the popular host of the hit TV talk show, Wanda's World, where kids call in and she helps them solve their problems. She is beautiful, confident and always knows what to say...in her fantasy. In real life, Wanda Butternut has a unique problem of her own and is dreading her first day of school in a new town. At a tender age, Wanda has always been branded as an outsider. With hip music and a warm message of inclusiveness and acceptance. Step into Wanda's World and she'll win your heart.

WHAT ARE CRITICS SAYING?


Tweens -- a demographic that's somewhere between child and teenager -- are driving the pop culture zeitgeist as evidenced by TV shows like Hannah Montana and High School Musical. So it's not surprising that Eric H. Weinberger and Beth Falcone's new musical Wanda's World, presented by AMAS Musical Theatre at the 45th Street Theater, is similarly pitched to this age group. But this feel-good tuner, well played by a cast of adult actors and smartly directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Lynne Taylor-Corbett, should appeal to audiences of all ages.

Like a Broadway Show in an Off-Broadway Theater
Wow! What a Dazzler!! Great music, performances, singing and dancing, set, costumes. But most important, an inspiring story for pre-teens and just as meaningful for teens and even adults. The PERFECT family show no matter how old your kids are, and youll have a blast too!
