A wickedly funny satire of Greenwich Village bohemians in the late 1920's, Veronique suddenly becomes a suspense thriller when the heroine's generosity to a handsome bisexual neighbor is misinterpreted (with tragic consequences) by his jealous lover. The end is a haunting depiction of a woman torn between forgiveness and the desire for revenge.
