WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Chekhov's Uncle Vanya is a tragic comedy that takes place over a few months on the country estate of retired professor of art, Alexander Serebryakov. The professor, vain and egoistic, has returned to the estate with his young and pretty yet bored and unhappy wife Yelena. Since their arrival, the routine and peaceful life on theestate is disrupted. Life revolves around the grouching professor, his idle wife and his handsome doctor, Astrov, who suddenly starts to show up more often, to philosophize over a bottle of cognac. Sincere and hardworking Vanya, who used to manage the estate for his admired professor his whole life, has since grown to hate and despise the old man. Obsessed with the professor's wife who flirts with the doctor and wrecked by the dispute over the future of the estate, Vanya gets desperate...
