Rachel Chavkin, Artistic Director of the TEAM (two-time Edinburgh Fringe First winners), who made waves this spring with her company's sold-out run of Particularly in the Heartland at P.S.122, directs Chekhov's classic, Uncle Vanya. This contemporary take on Chekhov's portrait of country life features female performers Gillian Chadsey (Death in a Vacant Lot), and Libby King (the TEAM) in the roles of Vanya and Astrov, highlighting the vulnerability and tenderness of their yearning for the unattainable Yelena, played by internationally acclaimed Finnish performer Marjo-Riikka Makela.
