It is a dark-comedy and coming-of-age tale about drinking an dealing in the suburbs. Trees Like Nails centers on the lives of suburban youth in America, yet the focus reaches beyond age. Snider confronts anxieties of mortality, personal choices, and sexuality in a sharp, witty voice. Brazenly revealing the danger at the heart of growing up, Trees Like Nails calls attention to the risks we all take, or don't take, when face-to-face with unexpected, perilous circumstances and emotions. Snider's play challenges the audience to look inward for answers, and opens us up to stumble upon the thrilling and damaging experiences we hide deep in the woods of our own lives. Trees Like Nails was first featured as part of The Shortened Attention Span Horror Festival in October 2007. Anthony C.E.
