Modern-day vaudevillian and author Trav S.D. (No Applause, Just Throw Money: The Book That Made Vaudeville Famous, Faber, 2005) takes on old time radio with this live presentation of the noir comedy thriller Cold Fire. John Devore of Maxim Magazine has called Trav S.D. a "freak show Raymond Chandler". In Cold Fire, he plays paranormal detective Ward Burns, out to solve a mysterious outbreak of spontaneous combustions, a quest which will take him past the very gates of Hell. Accompanying Trav S.D. and his cast are the unspeakably hip vibraphone stylings of the Fisherman Tiki Trio, called by the New Orleans Times-Picayune "one of the best things ever."
