WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Three-Cornered Moon is a screwball comedy about a wacky Brooklyn family trying to survive the Great Depression. Originally produced on Broadway in 1933 starring Ruth Gordon, Three-Cornered Moon was also made into a film starring Claudette Colbert. Drama Desk nominee Carl Forsman directs for the Keen Company.
There is no performance on Wednesday, September 11.

Carl Forsman, who founded the Keen Company two years ago, doesn't explain the choice of the word "Keen" in the program's mission statement. Perhaps the adjective is meant to suggest that he intends to focus only on reviving vintage plays he's keen on. The attraction clearly hasn't anything to do with a work's being a charming antique. "If there isn't some aspect that resonates with an audience today," he said in a recent interview, "I won't do it."
At first glance, then, his choice of Gertrude Tonkogony's 1933 comedy, Three-Cornered
Moon -- which Ruth Gordon graced on stage and Claudette Colbert starred in on film -- is a head-scratcher. This is a goofball piece featuring a household ful[...]
