WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Cassie Terman and Heather Harpham, improvisational performers and senior teachers of Action Theater, rouse a dreamlike and immediate world out of thin air. Combining the physicality of dancers and the narrative power of writers, Terman and Harpham create their work together spontaneously, allowing scenes and situations to develop into vividly embodied vignettes. Each night will be a new and entirely unique piece of theater, crafted in the moment.

Heather Harpham is a writer, solo performer, improviser and teacher. She has performed and taught improvisation for nearly 15 years, as well as using improv to devise original solo theater pieces, which have been presented widely in New York City. She has performed at venues including DTW, Judson Church, Danspace Project at St. Mark's Church, and Dixon Place. Heather has taught Master Classes in Action Theater improvisation at Oglethorpe College, Sarah Lawrence, and Pratt Institute, and with the Susan Marshal Dance Company. She holds and MA in Theater and an MFA in Creative Write, both form NYU. Cassie and Heather have been performing for, or with, one another since the age of 10. The New York Times has described her work as possessing "sly, inherent humor."

Cassie Terman is a performer, writer and teacher, currently living in NYC. She performs improvisations nationally and internationally, both solo and in collaboration. She has worked for over 16 years with Ruth Zaporah in Action Theater, is a Senior Teacher of the practice, and for the last 13 years has taught throughout the U.S. at universities, festivals, and theater and dance organizations. Collaborators include Tanya Calamoneri, Shinichi Momo Koga, etiquette, the composer Keren Rosenbaum, and the International Action Theater Ensemble. Cassie holds an M.F.A. in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University. "Subtle...delicately funny...Ms. Terman (is a) sure, charismatic performer." - New York Times
