This 1979 Tony-nominated & semi-autobiographical musical comedy, based on the real-life relationship of Marvin Hamlisch & Carol Bayer Sager, follows the story of a wisecracking composer after he is introduced to a new, offbeat lyricist. While the match is initially not one made in heaven, the two undergo a series of interesting trials & tribulations and overcome a number of hurdles before realizing their true love for one another by the final curtain.
