1920'S Chicago, over 1000 women worked at The Radium Dial Factory. The higher ups wore masks as the women were encouraged to work unprotected with harmful products. Victimized by their employers, these women rose to become heroes. "THESE SHINING LIVES" is based on the true story of Catherine Donohue and her co-workers, who became victims of radium poisoning. They sued the factory and their case and a few others changed labor law and set the precedent for tighter occupational health and safety laws nationwide. "THESE SHINING LIVES" is a story of change, friendship, love, loss and the courage to fight back.
