WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The York Theatre Company Developmental Reading Series includes:
China Song, the tale of the Emperor of China and his search for the latest fad and fix, the ultimate toy, the newest device. One day he discovers a Nightingale, whose simple song transfixes him with a sense of beauty he has never known before. Inspired by Hans Christian Anderson's The Nightingale, this is a musical fantasy of toys, machines, nightingales... and love. Will be performed on 04/13.
Emerald Green tells the story of four residents of a home for the elderly, placed in the same room during a blizzard in Bloomington, Minnesota, who are forced to face their pasts in order to rediscover meaning in their empty lives. WIll be performed 04/14.
