Sybil Kempson's new play, The Wytche of Problymm Plantation, entwines the stories of two women from the English plantation class in Jamaica near the end of the eighteenth century. It combines the true story of the infamous "White Witch" Annie Palmer with the character of Bertha Mason from Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
