WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Performed by singer/composer Fred Barton and award-winning actress Toni DiBuono, The Two Svengalis blends the styles of early 1950's Hollywood backstage musicals with the melodramatics of Douglas Sirk, and tells the story of an inhibited suburban housewife who picks a singularly ineffectual vocal coach to help her learn how to sing. After discovering they have a mysterious ability to inspire one another to greatness they become overnight mega-celebrities. This performance features 14 new songs that closely track the development of the Svengalis' budding relationship -- from cornball honky-tonk to 50's swing to sophisticated counterpoint duets. Schedule: Wednesday, April 21 at 9pm Thursday, April 22 at 9pm Thursday, April 29 at 9pm Friday, April 30 at 6:30pm
