It's Friday the 13th, 2009, one day before Valentine's Day, on the set of the popular cable news show Whittemore Walter: The Truth Will Out. As celebrity journalist/personality Whittemore Walter covers the one-year anniversary of the hate-inspired murder of 15 year old Ronnie Principe, he is haunted in more literal ways by the boy and his story. The newsroom is in fact swarming with love: Whittemore and his female co-anchor have a romantic past to wrestle with, his mother loves him almost unconditionally, and his producer - his semi-secret boyfriend - has given him an ultimatum: come out or break up. As he must choose between the relative safety of a "discreet" lifestyle and the person he loves most, the reality of his news show begins to crumble and he must face Ronnie, who was true to himself - and paid a price.
