WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The women and children are in camps. The men are dead. The politicians are lying. This is Troy. Veritas Productions and The Collective:Unconscious presents a thought provoking rendition of Euripides' The Trojan Women, translated by Edith Hamilton. Destitute and terrorized in a refugee camp, the surviving women of Troy prepare to become slaves and concubines to their enemies. Although written in 415 B.C., the play is profoundly relevant today, awakening our deepest fears and human instincts. The Trojan Women remains one of the greatest anti-war plays ever written. Darleen Jaeger directs this unique and powerful tragedy of the aftermath of war. Film star Anna Chlumsky joins the international cast as the Goddess Athena, with Joy Lenters as Hecuba and Broadway's own Norman Allen as Menelaus.

Appropriate For Ages: 13+
