Based on a real-life story, The Thing About Joe tells the tale of Joe Christiansen from Preston, Idaho, who decides to pursue his dream of becoming the best maitre d' in New York City. He encounters Gloria, a dedicated Duane Reade pharmacist, Carmine, an outer-boro pizza czar, a pyromaniacal girl-friend and many other unique New Yorkers. And always present by telephone: his psychiatrist/prescription-writing Mother in Idaho.

Presented by Musical Mondays Theatre Lab, this preview performance of The Thing About Joe features Matthew Hardy (book and lyrics) and Randy Klein (music) performing their own work.
