WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Theatre Askew and Columbia University School of the Arts present William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Director Jason Jacobs' new take on the classic text explores the potential of queer folk everywhere to contribute creativity and spirituality to the world at large. Inspired by the gender-defying examples of the Radical Faeries and the Cockettes this production imagines Shakespeare's magic island as the repository of the gay spirit, helping to heal all of humanity.
