WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Fredrick Byers Productions presents The Tell-Tale Heart - a musicabre featuring text by Edgar Allan Poe, with adaptation and music by Danny Ashkenasi. David L. Carson directs this new musical version of Poe's classic horror story as part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival. The Tell-Tale Heart - a musicabre tells the story of a man driven insane by the relentless heartbeat of his murder victim. Ashkenasi's musical version stays close to Poe's original with only minor changes to the text. The piece is performed by the story's narrator/protagonist, who alternates between singing and speech. Accompaniment is provided by three cellos, which musically depict the beating of the tell-tale heart. Schedule Friday, August 11 at 8:30pm Thursday, August 17 at 6:15pm Wednesday, August 23 at 8:30pm Thursday, August 24 at 3:30pm Saturday, August 26 at 2:15pm
