A free workshop presentation of Michele Carlo's solo show, in anticipation of its 2004 Off-Off Broadway run.
What happens when someone wants to embrace their ethnic identity, but doesn't know how? When pop culture has appropriated the best of your own cultural diversity, packaged it into a product and put a price tag on it, what's left to claim? In Michele Carlo's The Search For My Inner Latina, the "red sheep" of a Nuyorican family discovers that keeping it real is more than just remembering where you came from--it's never forgetting who you are. Directed by Desi Moreno-Penson.
