WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The River Crosses Rivers is a festival of new short work from thirteen emerging and established women playwrights of color including Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and renowned actor and activist Ruby Dee. The Festival runs in two series with the schedule as follows:

Series A
Risen From the Dough by France-Luce Benson
The Kitchen or 9½ Minutes of Subcontinental Absurdity by Naveen Bahar Choudhury
Ladybug Gonna Getcha by Kara Lee Corthron
The Step-Mother by Ruby Dee
Angels in the Parking Lot by N.N. Ewing
Banana Beer Bath by Lynn Nottage
Rally by Bridgette Wimberly

Series A is being performed at the following times:
Wednesday September 9th at 7pm
Thursday September 10th at 7pm
Friday September 11th at 7pm
Wednesday September 16th at 7pm
Thursday September 17th at 7pm
Sunday September 20th at 3pm
Friday September 25th at 7pm
Saturday September 26th at 7pm

RE:Powerful Short Plays!
This event was absolutely stunning! Short plays by women playwrights of color showcased a diverse range of work from several playwrights in one fantastic afternoon! I saw Series A and all of the pieces were very powerful, with thoughtful themes and dynamic performances from talented actors. I felt pure joy and extreme pride at the sheer talent of these wonderful playwrights. Who knew that short pieces could have such a powerful impact. Those who missed this show, missed a good one. It was awesome!
