WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Riot Act is PoliglotTheater's annual festival of new works in political theater. This is four hot new political plays, followed by a reception with live music by Mira Stroika, and a presentation of new material from Poliglot's own documentary theater piece about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, 30 Patriot Actors: Playing Real People, by Erin Browne. A Collection of voices ask, what does it mean to be American? What does it mean to feel American? And what if I don't? (short play)Latter Days Fall, by John Hansen-Brevetti. Angels are falling from the sky; the world faces renovation. Children are sent to war, walls are built against the invading filth. Trapped in the wreckage of a church, four people struggle with faith, freedom, and authority of a heavenly order. (long play) 8PM PROGRAMThe Pain in Blessing, by Ken Kaissar. In northern Galilee, an Israeli woman has lost her son. A Palestinian woman with pain of her own delivers a photograph. (short play)Then Waves, by Kevin Anthony Kautzman. A soldier comes home to his family, twisted and promising blood and fire. Lessons on war, God, and proper flag maintenance. (long play)
