Raw Impressions, Inc. presents its first Music Theatre Marathon, presenting 24 original ten-minute musicals. The marathon is the presentation of 24 original 10 minute musicals that have been created in only 10 days from start to finish by a talented group writers and composers. Raw Impressions mission is to inspire artists to be prolific with excellence. A nonprofit organization, Raw Impressions creates opportunities for artists to take risks and work with new collaborators. Through a supported speedy development process free from commercial pressures, the new work is presented in front of an audience, allowing artists to be artists. This years talented cast of participants include: Ta'Rea Campbell (Aida), Colleen Hawks (Boy from Oz, Smokey Joe's Café), Stacey Sergeant (The Exonerated), Sharon Wheatley (Cats, Les Mis, Phantom), Rodrick Covington (Lion King), Eric Michael Gillett (Maid in Manhattan B'way: The Frogs, Sweet Smell of Success, Kiss Me, Kate), Kevin Hale (Hairspray), Jay Aubrey Jones (Cats, How to Succeed), Daniel Levine (The Rocky Horror Show, Jesus Christ Superstar), and Scott Watanabe (Pacific Overtures, Phantom of the Opera) and many more to be announced.
