The Dreamscape Theatre's ensemble of ten actors portray over twenty different characters in a fast-paced, farcical production of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. This classic text tells the story of the mortal conflict between two outsiders. On one side is the downtrodden and vengeance-bent Shylock, reviled by all for his defiant pride in his religion. Opposing Shylock is self-loathing Antonio, revered by his peers but hated by himself for his desperate denial of his homosexuality. As the cast brings this classic story to life they will also invite the audience to relate the experience of the play directly to their own lives. Directed by Gerritt Turner.
