The Meeting depicts an imagined conversation between Malcolm X and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in a room inside the historic Hotel Theresa, shortly before Malcolm X was assassinated. This captures an aspect of their humanity, not often seen in the media. The play sends a variety of messages that address issues relevant today - War abroad, violence at home, inner city hopeless-ness to Black self-empowerment.
