Dealing with issues of inequality and gender, The Land of Purple People is about a mother, who is strongly opposed to and disturbed by her son's lifestyle realization. Soon after, she is thrust into a new world and begins a journey of understanding, self discovery, and compassion that, in the end brings her home.
