WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Torn from the journals of the Romanian playwright and novelist, The Journals of Mihail Sebastian chronicles the rise of anti-Semitism of World War II era Bucharest. Sebastian's unique voice raised a firestorm of controversy when these long-hidden journals were finally published in 1996, blowing the cover off decades of Romanian denial about Jewish repression during the War. This one-man play, adapted by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning playwright David Auburn, follows Sebastian's story of living as a Jewish writer through the birth and death of a fascist regime. There are additional performances on Tuesday, March 23 at 8pm and Tuesday, March 30 at 8pm.
