WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Jammer! resurrects that greatest of American entertainments, the Roller Derby: half sport, half show, all action. It's Brooklyn, 1958. Roller derby has taken America by storm, and Jack Lovington, a pure, naive, Catholic boy with a God-given genius for speed, is poised to become its biggest star. Plucked from obscurity and the loving arms of his fiancée, Jack hits the road with Jerry "Three Nuts", Carol "Big Tickets", Charlie Heartbreak and the other fast-talking, hard-driving crew of skaters who live for the thrill of the jam. Into just over an hour, this performance packs multiple roller derby sequences, a riot, a roller coaster ride, vomit, spit, blood, sex, and love. The Jammer! A Roller Derby Love Story - it's the King Lear of roller derby plays. This performance is presented as part of the New York International Fringe Festival. Performance Schedule: Saturday, August 14 at 8:30pm Monday, August 16 at 5pm Thursday, August 19 at 7pm Friday, August 20 at 10:45pm Sunday, August 22 at 12pm Thursday, August 26 at 7pm Friday, August 27 at 5pm
