WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Goodbye Girl is the ultimate "Best of" series of shows featuring the favorite songs culled from Jackie Beat's shows over the past 7 years at Fez. Each of the 3 performances will feature different material. Highlights are sure to include Jackie's unique takes on Dolly Patron's "9 to 5" as an ode to internet chatrooms, a homage to the 70's gay "hanky code" set to "Tie A Yellow Ribbon," the first pro-suicide disco song set to "The Hustle," a pro-marijuana song based on Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," and a shitload of scatological song parodies.
Other songs in Beat's twisted repertory include "Baby Got Back," "Diamonds Are Forever," "Witchcraft," "Toxic," "Half Breed," "White Rabbit," "Neutron Dance", "Love Will Keep Us Together," "China Girl," "Supersonic," "Beautiful," and "Private Dancer," which she has rewritten as odes to abortion, suicide, pedophilia, drug abuse, child abuse, spouse abuse, sexual fetishes, and the ultimate scourge, homosexuality.
