The Geldings by Wm. Seebring and presented by MadLab Theatre, is a full-length theatrical farce set in the Mythical American West. The story concerns the genital-free Gelding brothers ("Handsome Flem", "Big Fat Floss" and "Forlorn Ross") whose ranch is threatened by a severe drought. Salvation of a sort appears when the sexually frustrated "Widow Claire" reveals that she has a spring-fed well on her nearby spread. In exchange, all Claire wants is a sexual dalliance with Handsome Flem Gelding. Flem, a determined if somewhat awkward type, seeks to contrive a phallical apparatus that might temporarily placate the Widow's long-denied romantic desires. Unfortunately, complications ensue when the much feared "Big Pete Calhoun" rides into town and challenges a newly bulging Flem Gelding. A talking horse, a singing cowboy, a rummy-eyed saloon-keeper and "Crazy Ma Gelding" all intercede to provide additional genre send-up, gender-obfuscation and timely musical interludes.
