The Crow Mill
Crow Mill - First Choice (so far)
by TheaterRunner on Monday, Aug 24th, 2009 at 1:15 pmUpdate No. 2 :
Over the past 10 days, I have had a good dose of the Fringe Festivals, and this has been another great year.
As always, I try to keep an updated tally of my favorite shows. As of now, the best writing is coming out of the Cherry Pit - The Crow Mill is based on interesting premise with strong dialogue throughout the play.
There are certain aspects of the production which tend to give the play too much of a "Fringe" feel, but these glitches dont take away from the core strengths of the play and I am sure they will get worked with some more time.
So, if you want to leave the theater thinking about what you saw and heard, then the Crow Mill wont disappoint.
I should post another update later this week.

by TheaterRunner on Friday, Aug 21st, 2009 at 8:20 amUpdate No. 1. Another year and another Fringe! As background, I have seen my fair share of Fringe Plays, and I have seen many good "amateur" plays, but there is nothing amateur about the Crow Mill. This play, rather, is a vivid and emotional expose on a mans struggle to cope with his past and his known or unknown future. The play contains just the right amount of twist and turns to keep you enthralled. This smooth production provides the audience with a mutli-layered and fast paced dialogue, and give you a front row view of the mind of man that has manipulated his views of science to rationalize his irrational behavior. The cast brings this sharply written script to life with dedicated performances by each of the cast members. I am running to my third play today, so I know there are a lot of great shows to see at the Fringe, but this is the one you have to see.
