WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Originally produced by the Inkwell Theater Company in Los Angeles in the Fall of 2004, now being given its New York City debut by Inch Mile Entertainment, The Architect of Destiny is the story of a young man attempting to find meaning in his existence and take control of his life. The only obstacles he faces are an ethically and morally questionable doctor, a pharmaceutically mired, overbearing mother, a co-dependent father who's been diagnosed as conversationally docile with acute socio-gulibility and a girl who...well, you really have to see to believe. Even the great equalizer, death, proves elusive in a cruelly bureaucratic way as things spin further and further out of control. At once The Architect of Destiny is hilarious and nightmarish, dreamlike and lucid, absurd and all too real. Winner of the 2004 Bob Weiskopf Playwright Award.
