In The 6 Project, dancer, poet and actress Chelsea Gregory takes us to Jena, Louisiana where a series of racial conflicts left 6 black teenagers charged with attempted murder. While some in the community seek justice and reconciliation, others participate in a white supremacist rally on Martin Luther King Day. Having grown up Jewish in Atlanta, her experiences of racism and anti-Semitism inform the narrative with humor, compassion and integrity, inviting the audience to reflect on their own personal stories. Portraying a surprising and evocative range of perspectives, Chelsea explores race and identity through dance, poetry and documentary theatre.
