WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The world premiere of Sus Manos will incorporate theater, film, and music to elevate the historical saga of two women struggling for identity in Central America. On the eve of the first rebellion of the Mexican Revolution of 1910, Christian, an American filmmaker, arrives at Marco Marcado's hacienda in the outskirts of Oaxaca, Mexico. Christian sets out to film a Mexican-American version of Othello starring a beautiful young entertainer Lolita. Marco finds Lolita at a familiar brothel in the city, which enrages his wife Julia. As the film progresses, the jealous drama of Othello and the legend of the hacienda intertwine bringing Lolita and Julia together in an ultimate fight for freedom, respect, and love in a country on the brink of revolution.
