WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The People's Improv Theater welcomes back Starkey's Machine: It's funny when you watch it! Nate Starkey opens the show with a John Edwards-esque psychic who improvises his way through a few cold readings. The audience is fully engaged, although Starkey's psychic doesn't fool anyone and is clearly more interested in finding a date for after the show then anything else. The psychic bit is introduced by a short video and the show continues to alternate between video shorts and live monologues throughout. Starkey's characters run the gambit from sociopathic nicotine addicted anti-smoking spokespersons to apocalyptic weathermen. All of Starkey's characters seem to have a certain delusional maleness in common with each other that make all of the pieces fit together perfectly in this one show.
