How does a woman cope with an insatiable desire to be a stand-up comic, her maniacal and life-long fear of "fatness," and her mother's life-threatening battle with leukemia all in one day? Stand-Up Girl, a new comedy with drama by Elizabeth C. Gutterman, weaves all three issues into a poignant, funny tale about crossing that most terrifying of rubicons: the mother-daughter confrontation.
