Amas Musical Theatre's Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy presents world premiere of SPRANG THANG or The preposterous life of a sadly misunderstood black womanchile artist, coming of age in the mountains and valleys of the late nineteen-sixties and the low plateau of the early seventies (Part I).

Students of the acclaimed Amas Musical Theatre Academy will present the world premiere of this new musical with book, music and lyrics by Goldee Greene, the musical will be directed by Christopher Scott with choreography by Monica Johnson.

It's Spring 1969. As punishment for cutting gym, nerdy sophomore Apricot Taylor has to direct four of the toughest girls at Northampton High in the gi-normous school talent show. Against all odds, the girls bond with the characters they play in Apricot's wild historical revue. Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington take over the stage as the Amas Academy Teens present this zany world premiere musical comedy, SPRANG THANG.
