Shifting between the present and the past, Sister Calling My Name brings the audience into the experience of Michael, a college professor who returns to his hometown to deal with his developmentally disabled sister, Lindsey, whose expressive paintings have begun receiving critical accolades from the mainstream art world. This reunion is set into motion by Lindsey's guardian, Sister Anne, a childhood friend with whom Michael had been in love years ago. The resulting clash of world views, both spiritual and psychological, leads to an impassioned encounter and relevations about the nature of love and forgiveness.
