WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Depicting various aspects of the gay and lesbian experience, the seven plays of Short Stories 4 were selected from a record number of submissions, from playwrights across the country and in China. The following will be featured: Avatar, by Anthony Pennino and directed by Mary Tarochione, features two brothers searching for love. What's Going on in Room 610? by Tyler Jason Fereira and directed by Scott Gilmore, depicts a university poetry class, unlike one anyone has ever seen. Fathers' Day by Matt Heftler, directed by Rebecca Kendall, shows two fathers' perspectives on gay adoption. The Drive by Lindsay Price, directed by Michelle Berke, features a bride-to-be and her lesbian sister-in-law on their way to meet the bride's new family. My Father's Son by Jennie Contuzzi and directed by Jeff Seabaugh, concerns two brothers dealing with parental abuse. Manly Men Doing Manly Things, by Scott Sickles and directed by Stephen Huff, presents a pair of ex-lovers, a race car driver and a sportswriter, as they attempt reconciliation in the emergency room. Cha-Cha-Cha by Garth Wingfield and directed by Jodi Lynn Smith, is set at a high school reunion where two alums meet for the first time in 20 years. The Tuesday, June 25th performance is the Gala opening and includes a champagne toast. Tickets are $25.
