WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

RAE Entertainment brings you a cinematic Poemedy from the director of Platanos & Collard Greens. Join the Nuyorican Poetry Cafe in celebrating Kwanzaa this year with one of the most groundbreaking and innovative artists in the hip-hop theatrical movement while he weaves a hilarious tale with a tragic turn about a Nuyorican Muslim poet (Shakespeare N. Haarlem) convicted of treason against the United States and sentenced to death by lethal injection for a poem delivered at an open-mic night. The film advances the genre that Danny Hoch began with Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop and the hip-hop theatrical revolution Sarah Jones reignited with Bridge & Tunnel. Summer Hill Seven, director, artist, attorney & author will be on hand for questions and discussion after the film and will be signing his latest book (Hang Time - A Poetic Memoir!) as part of his nationwide book tour. Limited copies will be available after the film; you may order the book in advance at www.authorhouse.com/bookstore and other retail outlets. Partial proceeds to be donated to Impact Repertory Theatre - the audience before whom the live performance was filmed. What people are saying: "Summer Hill Seven created poemedy - a lyrically poetic storytelling form where the past meets the present to create poignant, passionate theater for today and tomorrow. Hang Time! is for tomorrow." David Lamb, Writer/Producer Platanos & Collard Greens "This is a profound work of art by a very talented and gifted poet. I highly recommend it to all who appreciate the spoken and written word."
