Shadows Behind The Footlights is a play set in the old Hollywood tradition of film "noir." It is a dark, mood piece set at Martin's Upper East Side bar in New York City. Nicholas Gaspari has a promising career as an opera singer to look forward to. Then, one evening, the bartender at Martin's is murdered. The crime goes unsolved and is almost forgotten until another friend of Gaspari's is murdered. And, then, as he is about to begin his recording career, another murder takes place at Martin's... and Gaspari realizes that he may have been the intended victim all along...
