WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Ben Brantley of The New York Times described Richard Greenberg's play The Violet Hour as "a work of serious whimsy, of glittering style and dark substance"; Mr. Greenberg's other plays include Eastern Standard and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Take Me Out.
"Guare practices a humor that is synonymous with lucidity, exploding genre and clichés, taking us to the core of human suffering," wrote the late Louis Malle. John Guare's plays include The Landscape of the Body, House of Blue Leaves, and Six Degrees of Separation. John Guare reads scenes from published/performed work such as A Few Stout Individuals and Lake Hollywood as well as from an untitled work-in-progress that will be produced a year from now. Richard Greenberg reads from a freshly written work-in-progress, among other plays.
