WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Downtown performance legend Ann Magnuson brings her newest one-woman show Rave Mom to P.S. 122. The show is subtitled "One Woman's Mid-Life Crisis in the Last Year of the 20th Century." It follows the adventures of a been-there, done-that, thought-she-had-it-all-under-control single woman who falls down the rabbit hole when she does ecstasy for the first time.

When Ann Magnuson first appears on stage at the beginning of her one-woman show Rave Mom--decked out in oversized sunglasses, pacifier, and various other accessories from the raver's demimonde--her appearance and attitude appear to confirm what her show's title suggests: This will be an adorable trifle about a middle-aged woman who gets hip to the delirious world of ecstasy and trance music.
So it is. But Magnuson is smarter than that...and sneakier, too.
