Modeled after radio programs of yesteryear, Radio Play gathers a group of actors, musicians and sound-effects artists to create a surreal sonic entertainment. Songs, stories and soundscapes collide in a comedic mash-up of non-temporal, quasi-political pop-cultural tropes.

There are some very trippy spirits hovering in the air at P.S. 122 during Reggie Watts' and Tommy Smith's dazzling and hilarious new work,
Radio Play.
This singular performance piece is, on one level, a nod to media technologies of the past: a Magnavox stereo, a vintage television set, and an old projector running a reel of ghost film all sit on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, at stage center, Watts and five fellow performers deconstruct -- often in utter darkness and in rapid-fire formation -- the typical ingredients of a noirish radio drama, a goofy domestic comedy, a rigged quiz show, and a string of classic commercials, among other things.
