Repertorio Espanol presents a staged reading of Quemar Las Naves (Burning Ships), the 2002 First Place Winner in the Nuestras Voces (Our Voices) Playwriting Competition. In Jackson Heights, different generational and political views create tension in a Columbian immigrant family struggling with their Americanization or their refusal to Americanize. The play is presented in Spanish with English translation. The event is free to the public.
