WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center presents Professor Phineas and his Percussive Physicists. Expect a wild explosion of sounds featuring dazzling percussionists playing marimba, vibraphone, and drums of all sizes and shapes, as Professor Phineas discovers the secrets of rhythm. He explores everything from his own pulse and dance rhythms to accelerandos, polyrhythms, and more. Bruce Adolphe stars as Professor Phineas. Joining him will be some of New York's finest percussionists: John Ferrari, Matthew Gold, and Tom Kolor. The wide and vibrant range of musical selections features works by Baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as many of today's finest composers, including Steve Reich and Elliott Carter.
