Inspired by Nina Simone's classic song "Four Women," Peaches fuses music, movement, and theater into a rich exploration of African American female identity. Tracing a path from slavery to contemporary American society, the show "grabs at the clichés of black womanhood, deconstructs them, and [...] gets them to march to their own drummer" (The San Francisco Chronicle).
