Phaithmoves presents Of (H)air, Hugs, and Hospitals, which combines the choreographic intentions of D.Faith Howard with the powerfuly
kinesthetic performances of some of New York's most exciting young dancers.
The show comprises a half-dozen distinct but interconnected dance pieces, presenting subject matter ranging from fathers to moon walks to hospital angst, and always exploring the group dynamic. It includes a wide range of musical choices, including several pieces of original music by the choreographer and by rising composer Isaac Everett. Text is spoken by the
dancers and mixed with the music, adding layers of questions and attempts at answers. In every piece, group interaction is key, with solo virtuosity shoved unceremoniously into the background.
