WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Too often, new writers are encouraged to shrink their ideas down in order to get their plays produced. Two and three character scripts with one setting are the norm. Mirror Repertory Company believes that in order to create extraordinary art, writers must work without limits, and so they have created the No Boundaries Play Festival. Writers were invited to write whatever they wanted, letting Mirror Rep worry about solving the technical problems. The results are seven spectacular scripts, four of which are world premieres and three of which are being seen in New York for the first time. Series A Thursday & Saturday at 7:30 PM Sunday at 1:00 PM Theatre is The Thing with Tentacles (World Premiere) By Ed Valentine, Directed by Mark Defrancis That squid only wants to give us pleasure. Just Another Day in November (NY Premiere) By Jonathon Joy, Directed by Roseanne Clark You're angry like a drunken Dick Cheney just shot you in the face. Circus Chimps (World Premiere) By MacAdam Smith, Directed by Mark Defrancis You can't imagine anything better than that? Ten Speed Revolution (NY Premiere) By John Heimbuch, Directed by Alex Burns I told you we shouldn't have a system! Every system inevitably fails! Series B Friday at 7:30 PM Saturday at 4:00 PM Sunday at 4:30 PM Song of Bentley (World Premiere) By Daniel Kelley, Directed by Anthony Nelson The song is un-extraordinary... and somewhat uninteresting. Incorporated (World Premiere) By Sarah Hague, Directed by Nicholas Uber Leonard Power was the objective. The Period Fairy (World Premiere) By Jason Kessler, Directed by Max Shulman Your vagina is not a flower. A penis is not a seahorse.
