WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
New Sounds Live: Operadio pairs two short music theater works which look back to that increasingly rare art form known as the Radio Play. Custer and Sitting Bull by composer Kyle Gann is a 35-minute work for voice, synthesizer and electronics, recounting the Battle of the Little Bighorn through historical texts. Into the Fire by composer Phil Kline is a 45-minute work originally set as a radio opera, with texts by Luc Sante and video by James Nares.
